Liquid Injection Molding LIM
The Wittman Battenfeld Liquid Injection Molding process is used to manufacture parts made of two different component liquid silicon rubber. The two materials are pumped into a mixing station via an injection unit into the heated mold. This process features no toxic byproducts due to burning, high thermal stability up to 180° C, resistant temperatures as low as -40° C retaining elasticity, and extreme resistance to aging and weathering.
The LIM package includes an injection unit for processing 2 component liquid silicon, pneumatic shut-off nozzle and spring-actuated non-return valve. A vacuum package with vacuum pump, vacuum valve and pressure sensors to avoid trapped air in the mold (optional). Ejection via brushing device and/or handling system activated by the machine controller, cooling, heating and interfaces adapted to the application, and cooperation with leading peripheral equipment manufacturers and mold makers.
